Frequently Asked Questions About SAFE-SCHOOLS!
QUESTION: What exactly do you teach in the SAFE-SCHOOLS Program?
ANSWER: SAFE-SCHOOLS teaches the fundamentals of character development, self-esteem, and problem solving. When a child completes any of our programs, they are better equipped to assist others in handling situations in school and in turn learn-by-doing with actual hands-on experience.
QUESTION: Is the SAFE-SCHOOLS Program available in middle and high schools?
ANSWER: Currently the SAFE-SCHOOLS Program is offered at the elementary level only and specifically in the third, fourth, and fifth grades. We are developing a middle and high school curriculum, however, it is still in the beta testing stages and will be available soon. Completion of our new programs will be announced on this website.
QUESTION: When and where are the SAFE-SCHOOLS classes taught?
ANSWER: SAFE-SCHOOL classes are generally taught over a four week period of time during the school day. A school can start their program anytime within the school year and actual start time depends on the school and their requirements. It is recommended that classes start within the first six week period or first semester.
Most of the time, schools will designate a specific classroom where students can gather each day or each week. This again depends on the school and their requirements.
QUESTION: How can I start a SAFE-SCHOOLS Program at my school?
ANSWER: SAFE-SCHOOLS Programs are available on local, state, and regional levels. You should contact us as soon as possible to see if the SAFE-SCHOOLS Program is available in your area.
QUESTION: What are the costs involved in implementing a SAFE-SCHOOLS Program at my school?
ANSWER: SAFE-SCHOOLS Program costs are on a per unit basis. That is, each child, teacher, administrator, or bus driver counts as one unit. Our FBI and CIA classes generally are spread over a four week period and have between 25 and 45 students per class. Costs are $22.50 per unit (per person) and includes all materials, T-shirts, badges, and other support material.
The AE course for teachers and the NSBDC program for bus drivers is a half-day seminar or a three hour class, respectfully. Cost per person is $55.00 and includes a professional trainer and access to the downloadable workbook and all follow-up materials.
