A recent study by the
National Resource Center
for Safe Schools found that 70% of parents surveyed stated that
bullying of their children in school is one of their top
concerns. |
| |
|
 |
160,000 kids skip school each day because they
are afraid to go. This means that those that want to learn are
being robbed of precious class time. |
| |
|
 |
The study also found that 30% of American
children are regularly involved in bullying, either as bullies or
victims, and approximately 15% are "severely traumatized or
distressed" as a result of encounters with
bullies. | |

WHAT IS SAFE-SCHOOLS?

SAFE-SCHOOLS is a curriculum based extended learning program designed to challenge, support, and enable students through proven student behavioral modification techniques resulting in higher educational achievements.
Who Benefits from the SAFE-SCHOOLS Program?
Students, Teachers, School Administrators, bus drivers, school systems, parents, and communities all benefit from the program.
How do they Benefit?
€ School Children: Students develop self-esteem; make better grades; learn how to become positive role models; develop improved people and social skills; are more disciplined and focused; expect more of themselves and achieve more.
€ Teachers: Less disciplinary time requirements in classrooms; more time to concentrate on teaching; fewer student problems and referrals; more attentive and goal oriented students; a better teaching and learning environment.
€ School Administrators: Fewer student problems on the buses and in the schools; better discipline in the schools; more positive educational environment; more time to spend on educational functions because less time is required to address disciplinary problems; Administrators are able to deliver more education at lower cost.
€ Bus Drivers: Buses are safer for everyone if the drivers can concentrate on driving and not have to divert attention to student discipline problems. The bus environment is improved because students exhibit better behavior and cause fewer problems. Drivers experience an increase in self-esteem that results in better job satisfaction and performance.
€ Schools: Schools experience an improved learning environment that is safer for the students and the faculty; overall the school has a more positive and productive atmosphere yielding more positive groups for students to join and eventually culling out the negative ones. School ratings and funding opportunities increase from lowered overall costs and by producing better educational results.
€ The School Districts: More resources can be directed toward the primary mission of the school instead of being wasted on time intensive discipline, remedial actions, compensation for negative environments and un-motivated faculty and students. The school district gets better results for fewer dollars.
€ Parents and the Community: Students learn how to become better community citizens; crime is reduced; fewer problem children; successful children become positive role models for younger ones; fewer family conflicts caused by unreasonable, unmotivated kids; a more harmonious family unit is established through mutual respect for each other.
