Welcome to SAFE-SCHOOLS!

SAFE-SCHOOLS is a curriculum based education program specifically designed to challenge, support, and enrich the educational safety systems in schools, on school buses, and at home by "Putting Prevention into Practice Everyday!" Our main goal is educational awareness of essential safety rules and "expectations" that will enable children and adult to lead productive and fulfilling lives.

SAFE-SCHOOLS mission is to find, share, and sustain effective safe solutions for the most urgent problems facing educational systems, practitioners, and decision-makers in the southeastern United States. Our particular emphasis is on ensuring safety education, training, and educational equity for all children, transportation personnel, and educators at all levels.

SAFE-SCHOOLS pursues this mission through multiple project arrangements, and is governed by an institutional commitment to a long-term, systematic, research / experience-based approach. The primary strategies are those of evaluation, recommendation, and training. We are always working on development, dissemination, other training, and technical assistance supported by evaluation and applied research.

SAFE SCHOOLS programs teach leadership by doing, learning responsible behavior by example, and how to "accept the challenge to learn". In addition, participants are exposed to necessary job skills and discover how to properly present themselves to others. Students learn to respect others by participation, cooperation, and self discipline.

SAFE SCHOOLS is structured to empower student participants from not only refraining from initiating and participating in bullying behaviors, but instead to assist in defusing situations in areas where they have an impact.
